Next Week Beginning Monday, November 28

Monday: Literature Day- an eight grade student will come to our class and read a story for the pre-k students. Cookies and milk will be served. 

We will learn about the Advent season that began yesterday. 

Fitness with Erica Wall in the afternoon- the students really enjoy this time. 

Tuesday: Hibernating Day! Bring a soft animal and a paper bag to school. We will make a den out of the paper bag.

Wednesday: We will make a calendar and begin the countdown to Christmas.

Thursday: Share Day! Bring a toy from home and tell us what is special about it. 

Friday: Spirit Day! Wear the spirit t-shirt, jeans and black tennis shoes.

Monday: The Thanksgiving Story

Tuesday: Grandparents and Special Friend Day! The pre-k students will sing for the visitors during the breakfast. We are looking forward to show our grandparents what we do in our class.

In the afternoon Maria and Emily will come help make turkey shaped cookies. Tracing today, decorating tomorrow.

Wednesday: Decorate the turkey cookie. 

Buddy day- the fourth graders will come and have some Thanksgiving fun with us.

NO AFTER CARE! 

Gateway to Art- 8:40-9:40am

Tomorrow the second session of the art program will take place. All pre-k students need to be at school by 8:40 am.

Wednesday, November 16- HIBERNATING DAY! Postponed to Tuesday, November 29.

Please send a soft animal and a paper grocery bag to school on Wednesday this week. We are going make a den and put the animal to sleep for the winter! The students can wake them up when they are home.

Scholastic Book Fair

Dear Good Shepherd Parents,

Save the Date! Scholastic Book Fair: Dec 2 – Dec 4
Join Our Book Fair Volunteer Team!

Our volunteer team is organizing the Annual Good Shepherd Book Fair and we need you to make it happen! Do you love books? Do you want to encourage your children’s love of reading? Do you like to organize? Do you like to network? Would you like to help shoppers find the perfect book? Would you like to help out with refreshments? We need help with setup, book fair sales representatives, food and beverage managers, cashiers, and clean up.

We need parent volunteers for set up on Nov 28, Nov 29, Dec1, Book Fair Food and Customer Service Volunteer on Dec 2, Dec3, Dec 4, And Book fair Clean up volunteers on Dec 5.
We also need parent volunteers to bring Pizzas, Juice Boxes on Friday, Dec2 for a book fair lunch party after school.

A Good Shepherd Student is A SELF AWARE INDIVIDUAL WHO Works cooperatively with others.

 

2nd Annual Appeal going on right now.   Our goal is to have 100% participation from all families.   Pre-k has 25% participation now!  Donation forms and envelopes are available in the main office.

 

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7th

  • Hygiene Drive Begins – Bring Donations (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes etc) to your child’s classroom

 

TUESDAY, November 8th

  • Parent Club meeting @ 8:15 am. O’Ryan Hall
  • Father Ken Deasy from the Holy Childhood Association will be here to speak to parents and students about the Missions.
  • School Tours @ 1:30 pm.

 

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9th

  • School Mass @ 10-:15 am.  O’Ryan Hall
  • Brain Night Activity sponsored by the Parent Club @ 6:00 pm. UCLA science students will be here to conduct a fun evening of activities.

NO SCHOOL – VETERAN’S DAY
