Sunday, January 30:
Join us at Good Shepherd Church during 5:30pm mass. The preschoolers are practicing to speak at church, “I like my school because…” Please help your child practice. Thanks! Wear the school uniform please.

Tuesday, February 1:
Parent Club meeting 8am- please attend, you get service hours for this!

OPEN HOUSE 6pm-7:30pm: Please come see our school. Invite family and friends too!

Wednesday, February 2: Free Dress Day!

Other themes and topics this week include: Groundhog Day, Chinese New Year, February, Number 9, Heart shape, Tea parties and the Nursery Rhyme “I’m a Little Tea Pot.”

Special Guest: Every Friday we have a special guest visiting pre-k at noon. During lunch the blinds in the classroom are closed the guest is a surprise for the students. Let me know if you are interested in being our special guest. Next available Friday is February 4th. All Fridays in February are available except Feb. 25th.

Saturday., Jan. 29th

Catholic Schools Week Rally at St. Basil’s Church, 637 South Kingsley Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90005 from 1:00 – 4:00.

Come and support Catholic Schools. 

All are invited! Good Shepherd will have a booth!

Week of Jan. 24-28

This week’s theme is “Staying Well” with topics including the Letter N, Using a tissue, Visiting the doctor, and Taking naps.

On Wednesday we will take a field trip to Roxbury Park from 9 a.m. to noon. We will walk there and back, so please wear your tennies along with jeans and your spirit shirt. Also, please pack a disposable sack lunch.

Sunday, January 30, 5:30pm Mass

We hope to see you all at Good Shepherd Church on Sunday, January 30, at 5:30pm Mass. All school families will sit together. Please wear your school uniform. The 5th grade class will join us in representing our school. This is the kick-off to Catholic Schools Week (January 30- February 4).

Please come visit our school on February 1, 6pm-7:30! The school doors are open for current and new families.

Week of January 18-21

On Monday January 17,  we will have a school holiday in honor of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday.

 This week’s theme is “Winter Fun.”  Topics include the Letter M, the Number 8, Snow, and Dressing for Winter.

We will also have an activity with our buddy class on Wednesday afternoon. We will create posters for the Bookends book drive which will take place in February.

 

Week of January 10-14



Tuesday, January 11th is “Sports shirt day.” Bring in $1.00 for the privilege of wearing sports shirts – You may wear jeans and sneakers with your shirts.

Please don’t forget to bring your ingredients for our vegetable soup on Thursday. The sign-up sheet is near the sign-in/out clipboard.

This week’s topics inlude: Letter L, Healthy eating, Hand washing, The Story “Stone Soup,” and Science experiments with magnets.

Hope you have had a wonderful break!  Happy new year!

Next Sunday Preschool and 6th grade are hosting the Bake Sale at Good Shepherd Church during morning masses. Parents need to bake and bring their goods to church. Parents are also signing up to help sell the goodies. Please talk to Aimee Stevenson and let her know when you are available.

On Sunday, January 30, is the kick off for Catholic School’s Week. Students from our school will be represented during different masses. Please join us during 5:30pm mass Sunday evening.
