Monday, 9/27:  We will celebrate Johnny Appleseed’s Birthday with apple-themed projects and snacks. Please bring an apple snack to share with the class on Monday (for example: dried apple crisps, apple muffins, cookies or cake, apple butter, apple sauce, apple pie, etc.)

Week of Sept. 20-24

Forms Due Monday, Sept. 20: -Good Shepherd Parent Handbook form; Scholastic Book Order form; and the Highlights Magazine form (please turn this in even if you don’t want to subscribe)

Important Events this week:

Tuesday, 9/21/10, Lifetouch School Pictures.  Girls must wear jumpers, sailor blouses and neck ties; boys must wear grey shirts and navy pants with belts. Please arrive at 8:00 a.m. for the class picture. Parent volunteers are welcome!

Wednesday, 9/22/10, Family Fun Night at California Pizza Kitchen on Beverly Drive: School fundraiser and social event. Hope to see you there!

Thursday, 9/23/10, First full day of Autumn (Autumnal Equinox is Sept. 22, 8:09 p.m.)

This Week’s topics include: Seasons, Autumn, Opposites Stop/Go, Letter B, Color Yellow, Cars, Trucks, Buses, Boats, Ships,  and Trains.

Week of Sept. 7-10

We had a great first week of school last week and enjoyed getting to know everyone. This week we will have fun learning about the muffin man, home, family, birthdays, #1, the color red and police officers. We will also join in Good Shepherd School’s 80th birthday celebration on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Parent Club Meeting, September 7th, 8am

The first meeting of this year will take place on Tuesday, September 7th.  It starts right after the morning assembly at 8am in O’Ryan Hall.  You receive volunteer hours for attending.  Remember to sign in the school office. 🙂
