A Letter from the Parent Club

Dear Parents,

After the excitement of the first days of school we would like to give you a quick update about what the Parent Club is planning for the next few weeks.

First, we would like to remind you to attend our monthly parent meetings at the O’Ryan Hall. Meetings are held every first Tuesday of each month after drop-off at 8:15 AM. This is a good way to communicate and keep all parents informed, and one service hour is given for each attendance. Our first meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2011.

We want to also point out that parent engagement is crucial in our school community, and we encourage parents to take the opportunity to volunteer and share their talents in having a successful school year.

A Volunteer Application Form is attached.  You can find a list of all different positions available.  Some of you may have already turned one in, but many were not completely filled out.  Please use this one and turn in to the office right away.

Parent and Me Classes will begin the week of August 22.

Monday 4:45-6:00pm

Ages: 12-24 months

Thursday 4:45-6:00pm

Ages: 24-48 months

Price: $30/session

$250/10 sessions

A Letter from Our Room Parent

Dear Parents,

My name is Maria Aizpuru (mother of Emilio), and I am happy to be your Pre -K Room Parent for the 2011-12 school year.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining Good Shepherd this year, and to those of you that are returning families, welcome back!

As room parent I will assist our Pre -K director and teachers Ms Hellstrom, Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. Weeks and Mrs. Bramon with any projects or requests that they may have. I will play an active role through correspondence and phone calls in garnering your participation and support for fundraising events, fieldtrips and any other activities that our children’s teachers may need our help with. As you know, the Good Shepherd community is built upon great families and I thank you in advance for your participation.

Here are some items to mark in your calendar:

• Tuesday, September 6, Back to School Night at 6pm
• Sunday, September 18, Family Mass and School Picnic at Rancho Park

I encourage you to check the pre-k blog through the school’s website, under faculty or directly at: prekgs.wordpress.com. This will be the main way of communication with our teachers, classroom updates and activities requiring our participation will be posted there as well.

After School Care

After school care will begin on August 22 and is available from 3:15-6:00pm.  Please send and email (preschool_director@goodshepherdbeverlyhills.com) and let me know if you are signing up. Fees are due on the first day of the month or when you pick up your child on the day when you used the service.

Monthly fee: $300

Daily fee (Mon.-Thurs.): $30

Daily fee (Fri.): 12:45-3:00: $35, 12:45-6:00: $50

 

First Day of School

Next Wednesday is our first day.  We, Ms. Hellstrom, Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. Bramon and Mrs. Weeks are looking forward to see you all!  Please bring a picture of your family on this day.  We will display it in the classroom.
