Week of April 26-30

 We will celebrate the 80th birthday of Good Shepherd Catholic School on Thursday, April 29. The In-n-Out Burger truck is coming for lunch at 11:30, and we will participate in fun activities throughout the day- including cupcake decorating!  FREE DRESS DAY!

We will celebrate Atesa’s birthday on Friday with pizza and treats. Wear your spirit shirts and jeans on Friday.

 

This week, we will be learning about community workers- including police officers, fire fighters, postal workers, doctors, teachers, restaurant workers, secretaries, carpenters, and many other professions.

 

 

We are also learning about the work of the Columban Missionary Society with the week-long mission education program titled “Journey with Jesus.” The preschool program is called Vinny’s New Day, where we will “meet children of other lands, learn about Baptism and belonging to God’s family, and discover ways to love like Jesus.” Their website: https://www.columban.org/component/option,com_performs/formid,7/Itemid,43/

Friday: Last day to turn in your orderform for the In-N-Out burger Event on April 29th- Parents and siblings are welcome to join. The orderform for you is white and available in the school office or preschool office.

 

Big Sunday: http://www.bigsunday.org/ The junior high classes here at Good Shepherd are will particiapte and help with these community helping activities on May 1 and 2. Check it out! It may  fun for you  as a family. There are activitites available for all age-groups.

 

Remember not to pack a lunch on Friday! We are celebrating Christian’s birthday:)

 

Saturday, April 24th- SPRING DANCE

The whole family is invited to dance with Ruddy:) and food will be served. Only $10/family.

 

Welcome back to school!

We hope you all had a great break and are excited to see you again tomorrow!

This week we are going to study the weather! What is happening with the clouds in the sky? Is it windy, foggy, misty, raining? Will we see lightning or hear thunder?

We are also counting to 12, writing letter Qq and working on our on writing in the writing center (where we have word cards, pencils, pictures, paper to make books, write lists, describe pictures etc.)

Blocks, trains and other toys are also there for us to use:) There is new sand in the sandbox! We will review rules and have fun playing outdoors again (if weather permits).

April is poetry month and we will read and discuss a poem each day!

Spring Dance at Good Shepherd Parish Hall!

WHEN: SATURDAY, APRIL 24TH at 6:30pm

 

Food and Drink Provided by Good Shepherd School Families

 

Each class is responsible for providing the items listed below.

 

(All fresh food must be delivered to the church hall between 4pm and 5pm on the day of the event. All other items can be left at school the week of April 19th.  There will be boxes for your items on the benches outside the school office.  Make sure your name is on the item if you want service hours for your donations of $10 or more.)

 

Pre – K – Cheese/Crackers/French Bread

Kindergarten – Appetizers

First Grade – Salads and Fruit

Second Grade – Main Dishes

Third Grade – Platters/Serving Spoons/Napkins

Forth Grade – Main Dishes

Fifth Grade – Sides

Sixth Grade – Waters/Soda/Juice

Seventh Grade – Cups/Plates/Bowls/Cutlery

Eighth Grade – Desserts

 

If you have a specialty dish that you enjoy making please let us know, even if it’s not what your class has been assigned.

 

Volunteer hours will be awarded for every $10, so please keep all receipts.  Volunteers are still needed for the event too.
